Flavours and Fun at Fountain Square on 29 March
As summer bids farewell to our beautiful village, let’s gather for one last alfresco hurrah! Join us at Fountain Square on 29 March to usher in the new season with a food and pairing festival at this vibrant restaurant hub. Whether you're a wine connoisseur, adrenaline junkie, cocktail-lover, coffee snob, foodie, or all of the above – there’s something for everyone!
Fountain Square has always been a lively hub at the beating heart of Somerset West – a place to finalise party plans, stock up on supplies, grab a bite and a cuppa, and even learn a karate move or two. What better place to come together as a community and celebrate the sun set on another season in the wonderful place we call home.

The Schedule
6am - 8am: The early (and the active) bird gets the pancake! Specialized will kick things off with a cycling outride. The fit, the brave and those with gees among us can meet up at Specialized at 6am for a free coffee, ready to head out at 6:30am. It will be a road ride, but all types of bikes are welcome. The route is comfortable enough for all fitness levels. Reminder to wear helmets and backlights – if you don't have, the shop will be open for you to get sorted. We will finish off at Ground Central for discounted coffee and pancakes.
10am - 12pm: Coffee lovers unite! Ground Central will be share the secret to the perfect brew with a coffee masterclass at 10am and a Q&A with the Barista at 11am. While soaking in the caffeinated classes and conversations, enjoy any regular-size coffee paired with pancakes or a cinnamon roll for R40 or R50 respectively. There will also be a jumping castle set up by Party Time for little ones to jump the sugar out.
12pm - Late: Let your tastebuds sing! The flavour fundies of Fountain Square will offer a variety of unique pairings and signature specials to make your mouth water. Take your pick from the diverse menu of delights, pair them with a glass of wine, and settle in to enjoy the sensory abundance of fresh air, live music, fairy lights, great food, drinks, and company.
ATTENTION PARENTS: To keep the kiddies entertained, there are jumping castles and a space for the kiddies to get creative with fairy and gnome-themed arts and crafts. Parents can book their little ones in for an hour or two, or join in for a fun-filled family bonding activity.

Savoury platters for 2 at R160 and R250, including smoked pork belly, beef brisket, butter chicken, pork neck, and bobotie – with wine tastings included!
Sweet platter for 2: brownies, pumpkin pie, peppermint crisp delight, malva pudding, ice cream and a 3-wine tasting at R180

A fantastic new addition to Fountain Square is Bespoke Biltong – they opened on 20 March and are ready to satisfy your biltong craving! Get your biltong and droëwors just the way you like it, or browse their innovative biltong-making apparatuses for your own batch of homemade biltong.
